Yeshivat Baruch HaShem
The Gospels in Their Jewish Context by Rabbi Russ Resnik
Last Offered: February 21-25 2004
Course Description
The life and teachings of Yeshua unfolded in the heart of the Jewish world, and yielded great riches to those who were sensitive and alert to their Jewish context. Like the narratives of Torah, the four gospel accounts appear simple, but are endlessly fruitful when we learn their unique language and perspective.
Our class will present a distinctly Jewish reading of the gospels that honors them as the Word of God and the revelation of the incomparable person of Yeshua the Messiah.
Our instructor, Russ Resnik, is founding rabbi of Adat Yeshua Messianic Synagogue, General Secretary of the UMJC, and author of numerous articles, plus "Gateways to Torah: Joining the Ancient Conversation on the Weekly Portion," a study of each of the weekly Torah readings.
Audio and Video tapes of the 21 - 25 February 2004 presentation of this course are available.
