Yeshivat Baruch HaShem
"Portrait of the Coming Messiah" taught by Arlene Stucki
Offered:
15 - 19 November 2008
Course Description
What did Yeshua mean when He said, "For if you believed Moses, you would believe Me; for he wrote of Me. But if you do not believe his writings, how will you believe My words?" (John 5:46, 47)
It is in the Law of Moses that we find the Portrait of our priestly Messiah. The portrait is painted in both broad and fine strokes, in big concepts and in the most finite details.
Join us as we explore the depth of this treasure given to Israel that she might know the riches of Messiah and proclaim to the nations the things that truly make for peace.
Biographical Details
Arlene Stucki, wife of John Stucki, mother of 4 children, was a practicing R.N. and nursing educator when the Lord called her to Jewish ministry in 1974. The journey of her enablement has been a rich one. She was immersed in the Chicago Jewish community, crossing culture for several years. She developed a Jewish studies curriculum which she taught in her church for 15 years, resulting in a Bible Study for Jewish people, held in the Stucki home for over a decade. Out of that study a Messianic congregation was born. During those years, Arlene studied with Dr. Louis Goldberg, of blessed memory, at Moody Bible Institute in Chicago for four years, after which she completed a Master's degree in Jewish Studies, with an emphasis on religion at Spertus College of Judaica in Chicago. Following this, she and John attended and were certified with the Florence Melton School for adult learning, sponsored by Hebrew University in Jerusalem, a course of 3 years. Since retirement, Arlene has continued to develop Bible curriculum with an emphasis on Jewish roots for 5 years, teaching at the Rocky Mountain Evangelical Free church in Estes Park, Colorado, where she and John currently live. Since 2005 the Lord has been drawing her into a deep commitment to the vision of "Towards Jerusalem Council II", and she currently serves on the North American Committee.
It is a joy for her to continue in service to the Jewish people, and to share the beauty of the Scriptures that she has received on this journey with her "elder brother". May the Name of the L-rd be sanctified in our midst as we study together.
