Class Vision

The Baruch HaShem B’tweens class equips preteens (9-12 yr olds) with wisdom and faith necessary to follow Yeshua throughout their lives. We teach them to walk according to His purposes, observe His commandments and apply Biblical principles to everyday living. The class especially emphasizes the joy and privilege of following Yeshua in unity with other believers within the context of our Jewish life and cherished traditions. Our sons and daughters at Baruch HaShem (Jew and Gentile) are tomorrows leaders, both in the synagogue and the community. They must personally know G-D and receive His redemption through Yeshua. They need to prepare to defend their faith and live their lives in such a way that Ha Shem’s light, life and love are a clearly visible testimony to the world.

Accomplishing the Vision

Accomplishing the class vision utilizes a mixture of teaching, fellowship, arts and crafts, and various mitzvot. On a 31/2 year cycle we teach:

  • Be a light for Yeshua in the Jewish community and the world
The 7 major events in the Jewish life cycle: birth, circumcision, naming, bar/bat mitzvah, marriage, death and resurrection. We learn that eager embracing of each of these can make our lives shine like a 7 branched menorah to the world.

  • In a contextually Messianic Jewish atmosphere
The 7 Feasts of the L-RD: Pesach - Passover, Unleavened Bread, First Fruits, Shavuot, Rosh Hoshanna - Trumpets, Yom Kippur - Atonement, and Sukkoth - Tabernacles. These demonstrate what G-D has done, is doing and will do with His people. We see how Yeshua has fulfilled and will fulfill their prophetic message. We also observe Israeli holidays and practice saying traditional prayers and blessings. This helps the children become familiar and comfortable with leading others in these important elements of Jewish life.

  • Jewish believers can follow Yeshua as Jews
The 10 Commandments of Moses and the 49 Mitzvot of Messiah. This extensive curriculum connects the commandments of Torah with the clearly articulated instructions of Yeshua. It teaches how to become Talmidum of Yeshua in practical everyday life. We teach the 49 Mitzvot of Messiah over 3 years.

  • Christians may reconnect with the Jewish roots of their faith.
We also explore the beneficial connections between the Jewish people and Gentile believers. The land of Israel and life in Jerusalem provide many spiritual lessons. Gentiles who love Israel will bless her and her people with practical helps, prayer, time, energy and visible shows of support. In return, G-D blesses those who bless Israel.

Blessed is He who comes in the name of the L-rd
