Chaverah Fellowship
Chaverah is a time of fellowship, dancing, singing and dining.
Our meal is potluck style so please bring a Biblical kosher main
dish, fruit, salad, vegetable or dessert. Dress for Chaverah is modest casual,
and supervision of children is the responsibility of their parents.
Chaverah starts at about 6:00 PM and finish somewhere around
9:00 PM, but you may come and go as you like. We enjoy our meal
served in the kitchen area, with tables and chairs near the kitchen,
in Chaverah Hall, and seating in the courtyard. A Havdalah service
will occur before or after the meal, depending on the time of year
(sunset). Music and Davidic dancing follow the meal. And fellowship
occurs throughout the entire evening.
Be sure to come to the
Beginner Dance Lessons, beginning at 3:00 PM before
each Chaverah.
Check the calendar for Chaverah dates.
Camp Elijah Bus Fundraiser Chaverah
- Our February 3rd Chaverah will be dedicated to raising money to pay for the chartered bus we use for transportation
to and from camp. Our camp kitchen staff will be cooking the meal for donations and are hoping to raise $2,000
for the bus expense.
Baruch HaShem Synagogue has been hosting a summer camp for many years now. Camp Elijah is a ministry of Baruch HaShem’s Children’s Education Department. It is a unique summer camp experience that was developed to give Baruch HaShem children an opportunity to grow mentally, physically, socially, and spiritually. Through the extensive use of hands-on activities and an outdoor environment, we try to make this growth FUN, EXCITING and SAFE! The Chaverah this month is dedicated to raising money to pay for transportation to and from Camp Elijah via tour bus.
Bring your appetite and your best offering to help support this vital ministry!
Adult Volunteers Needed for Chaverah
If you can help with Chaverah Kitchen set-up (5:00 PM to 7:30 PM) or the Kitchen clean up
(8:30 PM to 9:30 PM), please let Pam Travis know that she can count on you to
assist her in the kitchen at this next Chaverah.
Monitor the Children during Chaverah
As you probably are aware, Chaverah is growing in the number of members as well as the
increase of visitors. There is an extremely urgent need for playground and courtyard
monitors. not to be babysitters, because the children are the responsibility of the parents,
but to be the eyes and ears for the well being of all of our children.
There are sign up sheets for playground and courtyard monitors with 9 time slots to choose from.
Each time slot represents 20 minutes. This is a flexible month-to-month schedule. You will
monitor for 20 minutes and someone will relieve you and his or her 20 minutes will start.
Each Chaverah will also be theme based. For example the August Chaverah was "Bounce House Chaverah"
and for future Chaverah - "Craft Chaverah", "Veggie Tale Chaverah" and so forth. If you would
like to help with the theme please see Bill Cale or Debbie Santos.
Thank you for supporting our children's safety. Please contact us as soon as possible so we can
start praying over and planning for the next Chaverah.
