EASY TOFFEE BARS
1 1/4 cups butter
3/4 cups brown sugar, packed
12 oz. chocolate chips, (your preference of milk chocolate or semi sweet)
1 bag toffee bits (can find in baking aisle with chocolate chips)
1/2 cup chopped pecans (optional)
1+ “sleeve” of graham crackers, divided on “dotted” lines
Preheat oven to 350°.
Spray a jelly roll pan and line with graham crackers, already broken. Fill in any gaps.
In small saucepan melt butter and add brown sugar, bring to a boil for 3 minutes. Pour over crackers. Bake for 10 minutes. Remove from oven and sprinkle with chocolate chips, toffee pieces, and pecans. Put back into oven for 2 minutes. Remove from heat and with the back of a spoon gently smooth out the melted chocolate chips until it is smoothed over. Let cool completely and place whole pan into freezer for 1 hour. Then break into smaller pieces and store in airtight container. (I keep mine in the refrigerator to keep it fresh and also to keep the chocolate set up.)
