A Life of Favor Yeshiva

Location: Chaverah Hall

Date: 01-27-2018

Registration Deadline: Wednesday, January 24

Being favored means receiving special affirmation and kindness, often undeserved. The stories of our earliest ancestors are filled with rivalry between siblings over such favor, beginning with Cain and Abel, then Isaac and Ishmael, Jacob and Esau, Rachel and Leah, and culminating in Joseph and his brothers. These all seem to be competing not just for family favor, but for God’s favor. Rabbi Russ will open up Joseph’s story to reveal God’s boundless favor, favor available to all, and how it applies to our lives, our marriages, our families, and our whole community. Together we will explore the way beyond competition for favor, in order to discover a life of favor freely given.

Based on the recently released book, A Life of Favor: A Family Therapist Examines the Story of Joseph and His Brothers, by Russ Resnik. (See below for bio.)

The Yeshiva will be held from 3:00pm-6:00pm in Chaverah Hall on Shabbat, January 27.

The cost is $15 for individuals, $25 for married couples and $40 for families (includes childcare).

Registration will be open until Wednesday, January 24.
